Gantt Chart Update

Image
In this post I would like to share my Gantt Chart, as Summary of Academic Paper is my last assignment it is time to update the whole chart. This may be the end of the Assignments I was given in Computer Skills and Research classes but it is not the end of my use of the Gantt Chart. (click on image to get better quality) The chart is created by me, I took the liberty of adding a few tasks from myself at the end. I also decided to convert the chart also into a Google Sheet and make it interactive and useful for everyone. The link below will take you to this chart. However, it looks slightly different to the one created in excel.  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11-yHL3q4OoS1F3qRYEk4FfHBXHxoNjn7/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=111746612039122497778&rtpof=true&sd=true

Academic Paper Summary

The documentary addresses a very important issue, which is the risk behind the mass use of Big Data, which has become a phenomenon of our times, but which has many aspects that can be harmful both to the individual and to society as a whole. Reference is made to scenarios that show how Big Data can be harmful, each of which describes different uses of Big Data in various fields, all of which lead to some kind of harm. The scenarios are contrived for the sake of argument but seem very realistic. It is said that the quality of the data itself and the analysis can be poor, and the decisions made based on this data inadequate and harmful. An important aspect of the whole debate is the question of responsibility for the active. It is cited that nuclear physicists are responsible for faults in the field and for the damage that these mistakes cause to people; therefore, those involved in Big Data analysis and those who supervise them should do their work carefully and thoughtfully and should ...

Software Example

As a test of Excel's capabilities, I decided to create a Gantt Chart and in this post I will try to present the most important functions I used and the final result. This is an update to my Gantt Chart from previous posts, so from now on I will be using it.  The first thing I have entered is the starting data, in the picture it shows the starting data on the left and I start to create a calendar using a formula that makes each week start from Monday which makes it easier to enter the data. I continue to create months and years I now format the cells and create tables to make everything look clear. I am now starting to add data to the cells, formatting the appearance in such a way that everything looks as good as possible to me, so that subsequent work with the Gantt Chart is quick and easy. Another formula I have used is to calculate in how many days an activity has been performed, and if the start and end cells are empty so that nothing appears. I have now created a list of c...

Software Functionality

Image
Formula bar is used to enter commands or to add and edit content. Ribbon is a set of commands to make the user's job easier. It is divided into sections, each containing the most useful commands.  Tabs are the Ribbons category and other options such as Help or File where you can save or create a new sheet. Name box and selected cell is the Cell that is currently chosen.  Columns and rows are letters in the case of columns and numbers in the case of rows, thanks to which each cell has an individual symbol. Sheet tabs allow you to navigate and create new sheets.

Software Overview

Excel is a spreadsheet programme, which means that it is software for collecting data in boxes, which are called cells, and rows. It is part of the Office programmes created by Microsoft. It is most commonly used by businesses to analyse data. Furthermore, In addition, it is used simply to store data, for accounting, account management or to create reports. It can perform mathematical calculations and even create graphs. Visual Basic for Applications is the macro programming language used in excel (Gillis, 2022). It is software that can be used for free via a web browser, but it is a reduced version; the full version of the programme is available via a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you are a student in most cases you have access to this software "for free", it is not really free because the school has indeed paid for it and you have paid for the school.  One of excel's biggest competitors is Google Sheets, a completely free version of spreadsheet. All you need ...

Survey Analysis: Continued

This post is a further analysis of the data. The first question is important in that it shows the percentage of respondents who even know what Big data is, with only 57.1 per cent (12 people) answering in the affirmative. 23.8 % (5 people) are not sure and the rest have no idea what Big data is. In a follow-up question, those who did not know what Big data was or were unsure most replied that they were not sure. However, interestingly one person who knows what Big data is answered that it is useless. And three people responded that Big data is useful, despite their lack of knowledge. This question is related to the next one, we can deduce whether people who know what Big data is are afraid of it or whether it is more people without knowledge of it who feel a sense of fear towards it. The responses show that of the ten people who think they know what information is being collected to a degree of 4+, only five of them are concerned about Big data. This is interesting inso...
